Abstract

In this paper, the Sphaerolobium macranthum Meisn. complex is revised and the following taxonomic conclusions made: the names S. drummondii Turcz. and S. pulchellum Meisn. are reinstated, the name S. macranthum is correctly applied and a new species, formerly recognised as S. macranthum var. parviflorum Benth., is described as S. validum R.Butcher. Illustrations, maps and full descriptions of the taxa within this complex are provided and a partial key to Sphaerolobium is presented.
