Substituent Effects in the Preparation of Quinazolinones by Rhodium-Catalysed Hydroformylation Reactions of 2-(Allylamino)benzamides

Abstract

Rhodium-catalysed reactions of 2-(allylamino)benzamides with 4-chloro, 5-methyl and 5-nitro substituents in the arene ring give varying yields of pyrrolo[1,2-a]quinazolinones together with branched chain aldehydes.
