Covalent bond refractions and the Periodic Table. IV. Bonds to oxygen

Abstract

The empirical equation, P = aRⁿ+b, where P is the parachor, R the Lorentz-Lorenz refraction, and a, b, and n are constants, has been applied in the present instance to the calculation of R for single covalent bonds between the elements of Groups IVB-VIIB and oxygen.
