The theory of titration of polybasic acids. I. Dibasic acids that form ion complexes

Abstract

Exact computer calculations have been made of the titration curves of weak dibasic acids, assuming that the anions of the acids may form ionic complexes with the cations of the titrating base. The results are qualitatively very similar to the experimental titration curves of some polyelectrolyte resins and offer an explanation of the unusual behaviour of the resins.
