Isoflavonoids. II. Synthesis of pterofuran and its derivatives

Abstract

The copper-catalysed reactions of diazoacetophenone with resorcinol and its mono-ethers are described. With suitably substituted reactants this process has been adapted to the synthesis of pterofuran and its derivatives, thus confirming the previously proposed structures.
