Diterpene Constituents of Pinus contorta Bark

Abstract

In addition to the diterpenes previously isolated from the bark of P. contorta, the new diterpenes (13S)-labda-8(17),14-diene-13β,18-diol(3) and 18-norlabda-8(17),13-diene-4α,15-diol (6), and the known diterpenes pimaral [8(14), 15-pimaradien-18-al] (10), isopimaral (7,15- isopimaradien-18-al) (8), pimarol [8(14),15-pimaradien-18-ol] (11), and isopimarol (7,15-isopimaradien-18-ol) (9) have been identified.
