The chemistry of Dodonaea spp. VII. ent-Labdanes from D. microzyga (Sapindaceae)

Abstract

The structures (1) and (2) are assigned to two new acids from the title plant. Interrelation was obtained by borohydride reduction of the mesylation product of the ester (3) which gave (4). Correlation with material of established constitution was obtained by Huang-Minlon reduction of the 2-ketone (8) leading to (10) which was prepared from the reference compound (11).
