The enthalpies of solution of ethanol, propan-1-ol, propan-2-ol and butan-1-ol in deuterium oxide

Abstract

The enthalpy changes on solution of the alcohols enthanol, propan-1-ol, propan-2-ol and butan-1-ol in deuterium oxide have been measured at 283 and 298 K, and the enthalpy changes on transfer of the alcohols from water to deuterium oxide have also been calculated. The results have been compared qualitatively with data obtained by other workers and also with data for other related solutes.
