Can ¹⁵N N.M.R. be used to determine the site of N-oxidation of Pyrimidine-2,4-diamine?

Abstract

An investigation of the products of N-oxidation of pyrimidine-2,4- diamine demonstrated that ¹⁵N spectroscopy is an unreliable technique for the determination of the site of N-oxidation. The ¹⁵N shifts caused by N-oxidation were small and downfield and of no diagnostic value.
