A ¹³C N.M.R. Study of Some Methyl Chlorodeoxy-α-D-aldohexopyranosides

Abstract

¹³ C n.m.r . data for six chlorinated methyl α-D- aldohexopyranoside derivatives and the parent sugars are presented. The effects on the C3 chemical shift as a result of replacement of hydroxyl by chlorine at C3 differ from previously reported α-substitution shifts.
