Abstract
Oxidation of the two DANA (2-deoxy-2,3-didehydro-N-acetylneuraminic acid) derivatives (3) and (4) by using several reagents has led to the isolation of the first sialic acid derivative (1) containing a γ-pyrone moiety.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH99096
