Inversion of Helical Molecules Based on 5,6,6a,7,8,12b-Hexahydrobenzo[c]phenanthrene-5,8-dione

Abstract

N.m.r. and equilibration studies gave the kinetic parameters for the inversion processes in seven helical molecules based on hexalindione (1). It appears that a simple relation exists in these systems between the free energy of inversion and non-bonded interactions as determined by the apparent overlap.
