Yun Zong received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Wuhan University (China), and his Ph.D. from Johannes-Gutenberg University of Mainz and Max-Planck Institute for Polymer Research, Germany. He was a post-doctoral research fellow at the National University of Singapore, a visiting scholar at Stanford University, and a technical advisor of Int.-Mat. Technologies. As a Senior Scientist in the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), he heads the Advanced Energy Storage Laboratory and is also Programme Manager of the Advanced Energy Storage Programme at the Science and Engineering Research Council (SERC) of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). His current research focuses on the development of high-performance rechargeable zinc-air and lithium-sulfur batteries.



Professor Andy Hor is currently Vice President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of The University of Hong Kong. He is a Fellow of the Singapore National Academy of Science (SNAS), Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK) (FRSC), President and Fellow of the Singapore National Institute of Chemistry (SNIC), and President of the Federation of the Asian Chemical Societies (FACS). He has published more than 400 international papers, with nearly 900 citations in 2015, filed patents in areas such as nanostructures and battery materials, and delivered numerous plenary, keynote, and invited lectures in various international, regional, and local meetings. He chaired the 15th Asian Chemical Congress (ACC-15) in 2013, the 41st International Coordination Chemistry Conference (ICCC-41) in 2014, and the Golden Jubilee Chemistry Conference in Singapore in 2015. He is on the international/advisory board of Chemistry – an Asian Journal (VCH-Wiley), Dalton Transactions (RSC), Inorganic Chemistry Frontiers (RSC) and Inorganica Chimica Acta (Elsevier), and Associate Editor of the Australian Journal of Chemistry (CSIRO) and Editor of the Journal of Molecular & Engineering Materials (WS).
