Revision of the New Zealand endemic eulophid genus Zealachertus Bouček (Hymenoptera : Chalcidoidea)

Abstract

The New Zealand endemic eulophid genus ZealachertusBouček, 1978 is revised. The type species,Z. nothofagi Bouček, 1978 is redescribed andeleven new species are described: Z. abbreviatus, sp.nov., Z. aspirensis, sp. nov.,Z. bildiri, sp. nov., Z. binarius,sp. nov., Z. conjunctus, sp. nov.,Z. holderi, sp. nov., Z. longus,sp. nov., Z. nephelion, sp. nov.,Z. pilifer, sp. nov., Z. planus,sp. nov., and Z. tortriciphaga, sp. nov. A key tospecies is provided, with additional diagnostic features for each species.Generic relationships, host records and biogeography are discussed. Acladistic analysis is undertaken to determine relationships within the genususing two species of Diaulomorpha Ashmead, 1900 asoutgroup taxa.
