Abstract

This counter was designed originally for the study of a two stage break-up process such as $$ where correlations are sought between a1 and a2 as discussed by Treacy (1955). In this case the a-particles a2 and a3 are emitted into a cone of semi-angle 10° and could readily be accepted by the counter.
