The Angular Distribution of 1·79 MeV Neutrons Scattered from Helium

Abstract

The angular distribution of 1·79 ±O· 05 Me V neutrons scattered from 'He has been measured in an effort to settle" a discrepancy in the phase shifts. The laboratory angular range 25° to 135° was covered. The results are compared with differential cross sections computed from the phase shifts of Dodder and Gammel (1952) and Demanins et al. (1962), and the data are seen to agree best with the former.
