Gamma Rays from keV Neutron Capture in Lanthanum

Abstract

A Ge(Li) detector has been used to observe )I-ray transitions after the capture of keV neutrons in lanthanum. An analysis of nonstatistical transitions to low-lying In = 3 final states supports the proposed particle-hole capture mechanism.
