Abstract
The neutron capture cross section of 17°Yb has been measured relative to gold in the neutron energy range 10-70 ke V. The 30 ke V average cross section is 790 ± 60 mb. The astrophysical significance of this result is discussed with respect to the 176Lu_176Hf cosmochronometer.https://doi.org/10.1071/PH790447
