The Orbit-Lattice Interaction for Lanthanide Ions. III. Superposition Model Analysis for Arbitrary Symmetry

Abstract

Explicit formulae are obtained for the superposition model contributions to phenomenological orbit-lattice parameters for sites of arbitrary symmetry. As an example, these results are applied to derive expressions for the orbit-lattice parameters in C3h and D3h symmetry, without the assumption of uniform strain.
