The panaeoloideae (Fungi, Basidiomycetes) of Australia

Abstract

The Panaeoloideae Singer of Australia are examined and four genera are admitted: Panaeolopsis, Copelandia, Panaeolina and Panaeolus. Eleven of the taxa are recorded for Australia of which two, Panaeolus bernicii and Panaeolus fimbriatus, are new species. Keys, descriptions and line drawings are provided to facilitate identifications. A short review of the history of the subfamily in Australia is included.
