Type collections of Asclepiadaceae at Herbarium Bogoriense (BO)

Abstract

Seventy seven type collections of Asclepiadaceae at Herbarium Bogoriense (BO) are documented. These type collections are predominantly from the Malesian region; however, one from Africa is also present. Toxocarpus orientalis Schltr. is reduced to synonymy under T. lineata Blume. Hoya apiculata Scheff is reduced to synonymy under Hoya australis subsp. tenuipes (K.D.Hil1) P.I.Forst. & Liddle. Hoya panchoi Kloppenburg ex Burton & D.H.Kent is reduced to synonymy under Hoya diversifolia Blume. Lectotypes are selected for the names Ceropegia papuana Schltr., Dischidia hahliana Volkens, Heterostemma herbertii Elmer, H. papuanum Schltr., Leptostemma hirsuta Blume, Marsdenia brachystephana Schltr., Sarcolobus retusus K.Schum., Spathidolepis torricellensis Schltr., Toxocarpus orientalis Schltr., Tylophora polyantha Volkens and T. sulphureus Volkens.
