This special issue of Animal Production Science contains research presented at the sixth Greenhouse Gas and Animal Agriculture Conference, February 2016. The GGAA conference is a key international conference that summarises the collective state of scientific knowledge on the advancement of abatement strategies for the livestock sector. The research articles published in this Special Issue summarise the latest research on the measurement, modelling and mitigation of greenhouse gasses from animal agriculture. The Special Issue themes focus on recent advancements in the areas of animal derived GHG mitigation and provide a snapshot of the scientific thinking about animal production at the current time.
