Predicting Post-wildfire Runoff and Erosion Response
International Journal of Wildland Fire Special Issue 25(3)Edited by:
This special issue investigates post-wildfire hydrogeomorphic impacts such as runoff and erosion.
The eight papers presented in this special issue are selected from those presented at a 2013 conference concerned with post-wildfire hydrogeomorphic impacts. This conference was motivated by the insufficient understanding of underlying controls to enable reliable and accurate prediction of runoff and erosion response. Not only field scientists and practitioners but also, importantly, meteorologists and modellers were invited to attend. Future improvements in post-wildfire prediction require elegant solutions to the parameterisation of multiscale processes based on field measurements that can be feasibly carried out given time, cost and safety constraints. + Full description
