Fauna of Australia Series

Australian Biological Resources Study

The Fauna of Australia volumes collate and present a vast array of knowledge on animal groups present in continental Australia and its external territories. Information for each taxon is provided at the phylum or class level and at the family level.

For each level, details are provided on classification, morphology and physiology, natural history, biogeography and phylogeny, the fossil record, economic significance and conservation. The text is meticulously researched, contributed by invited specialists, and profusely illustrated by Australia's finest faunal illustrators.

The original concept of publishing a ten-volume series has been revised and no further standard volumes will be published.

This series is co-published by CSIRO Publishing and the Australian Biological Resources Study.
