The Health Promotion Journal of Australia aims to facilitate communication between researchers, practitioners and policymakers involved in health promotion activities. Preference is given to practical examples of policies, theories, strategies and programs that utilise educational, organisational, economic and/or environmental approaches to health promotion and their evaluation. We welcome papers or brief reports on programs, professional viewpoints, guidelines for practice or evaluation methodologies.
When preparing a paper for publication, please follow journal style as closely as possible. It may help to consult some recently published papers. Detailed guidelines are set out in the Author Instructions.
The Health Promotion Journal of Australia is published three times a year. Material will be considered for publication on the understanding that it is original and unpublished work and has not been submitted for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts should be of a publishable standard; they are subject to peer-review and the Editors reserve the right not to publish any material. Authors are responsible for all statements made in the material.
Reprints can be ordered prior to publication. An order form is sent to the corresponding author with final page proofs. CSIRO Publishing supplies the corresponding authors with a free PDF of their paper upon publication. Authors may also order hardcopy reprints of their papers at the time they complete author corrections. Authors may create links to their papers from their personal webpages. This file can be used to:
- send to individual colleagues for non-commercial purposes
- print out and distribute to colleagues attending any conference presentation you make
- include in a course pack, subject to the usual copyright licensing agency arrangements.
However, the PDF may not be included on any website or on any server, including an institutional repository without prior approval. Please contact the Rights & Permissions Manager at email@example.com if you wish to use the PDF for any purpose other than those listed above.
All papers are also available from our website either by subscription or sale of individual papers.
The journal is indexed/abstracted in a wide variety of databases.
Volume 28 (3) will be the final issue of the Health Promotion Journal of Australia published by CSIRO Publishing. All submissions should be via the online submission system and enquiries should now be directed to Rosie Duffy, Journal Publishing Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
