Students will be able to:
• describe the Moon's rotation on a tilted axis and
  its revolution around the Earth
• recognise that eclipses are caused by the
alignment of Sun, Earth, and Moon
• distinguish between solar and lunar eclipses
• identify positions in the Moon’s orbit that will
  produce an eclipse
• use an Earth-Moon animated model to explain why
  eclipses are rare events.

Learners are guided through a series of structured tasks where they interact with a model of the Earth and the Moon. They can position the Moon to different points of its orbit around the Earth.

Learners manipulate the model to explore relationships between the Earth, the Sun and the Moon to answer multiple choice questions or to manipulate the model to set up a nominated event or situation.
