General Information

International Journal of Wildland Fire welcomes papers aimed at understanding the basic principles of fire as a process, understanding its ecological impact at the stand level and the landscape level, modelling fire and its effects, or presenting information on how to effectively and efficiently manage fire (see Scope). All papers are refereed rigourously by the journal´s Editorial Board and external reviewers.

For speed of passage through the peer-review process, all submissions will be handled in electronic format (see ´Submitting your manuscript for review´). After acceptance, the Publisher will request the files from which the final paper will be prepared.

When preparing a paper for publication, please follow journal style and layout as closely as possible. Guidelines are set out in the Author Instructions.

Our Editor has also prepared an overview (PDF) to assist in preparing your article, which will be of particular interest to authors with English as a second language and early career scientists.

We offer the corresponding author a free PDF copy of the paper upon publication. However, you may purchase hard copy reprints on the Publications Charges Form that will be sent with the proofs. The PDF will be sent promptly after publication. The use of the PDF copy is subject to the Conditions of Use.
