Abstract

The species in four genera of Australian Geotrupinae, all belonging to the tribe Bolboceratini, are described, keyed (males only) and illustrated. In Eucanthus Westwood one species, E. felschei Boucomont, is recognised as valid. Also in Bolbobaineus Howden & Cooper one species, B. planiceps Macleay, is recognised. In Australobolbus Howden & Cooper, 46 species are recognised with 29 new species: A. adamsi, A. allsoppi, A. aridulus, A. austrinus, A. bihamus, A. binasutus, A. canalis, A. carnabyorum, A. centrus, A. convergifrons, A. distropis, A. intermedius, A. labratus, A, lineocollis, A. lobatus, A. lobocapsus, A. masneri, A. monteithi, A, mouldsi, A. obtusus, A. occidentalis, A. pseudobscurius, A. pseudolaevipes, A. pygmaeus, A. rossi, A. sedlaceki, A. tibialis, A. walfordi, and A. weiri. In Gilletinus Boucomont, five species are recognised, with two new species: G. porosus and G. williamsi. A short taxonomic supplement is included in an addendum; in it the female of Blackburnium quinquecorne (Lea) is described. Three new species from Western Australia (S. enigmaticus, S. lividus and S. spatuliferus) are added to the genus Stenaspidius Westwood.
