Abstract
We describe a cylindrical plastic ear-tag for rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) that is inexpensive to construct,
easy to attach, and highly suitable for field studies. Tags are visible in daylight with the aid of
binoculars or telescope at distances up to about 200 m, and up to about 150m at night with the aid
of a spotlight. Annual rates of tag loss are low (7%) in grassland habitat but may be higher in scrub
habitat.
