Beetle Larvae of the World is an interactive tool for identifying larval beetles from any part of the world to the family or sub-family level, and in some instances to tribe or genus. The package is also an information-retrieval system for the 390 taxa included in the database. These taxa are coded for 175 identification characters (with from 1 to 17 character states) and five additional text characters, which include a short statement on geographic distribution, notes on general biology (habitat, feeding habits, etc.), alternate group name (synonymy), taxon images with their accompanying specimen data and acknowledgments, and a short list of references pertaining to the particular taxon.

This updated package includes corrections to data, a new version of the powerful Intkey software - with numerous enhancements and operating under Microsoft® Windows® - and natural-language descriptions of the taxa as HTML and Microsoft Word® files.
