This BTF is of a general nature; it will be necessary to refer to the Building Code of Australia (BCA) to ascertain the
access requirements for each type of building and for different areas of buildings, and then to refer to the Standards
called up in the Code.
It is intended to supplement the information given in AS 1428 ‘Design for Access and Mobility’, Part 1 ‘General
Requirements for Access – New Building Work, and Part 2 ‘Enhanced and Additional Requirements – Buildings and
Facilities’.
