Storey’s Guide to Raising Sheep has earned the praise and trust of sheep farmers around the world with its in-depth, expert coverage of breed selection, lambing, feeding, housing, pasture maintenance, disease prevention and treatment, and more. New and expanded features in this fourth edition include guidelines for organic certification, advice on web-based marketing and networking, and coverage of rare breeds.

A respected authority on raising sheep for more than three decades, author Paula Simmons has written many books and magazine articles on spinning wool. She has authored three Storey books for children and adults. Paula is also a lecturer and conducts workshops in the United States and Canada on raising sheep and spinning wool for a living.

Carol Ekarius lives in the mountains of Colorado where her four-legged and winged family keep her busy. In addition to working around the ranch, Carol writes for a variety of newspapers and magazines on agriculture and the environment. She has been active in the sustainable agriculture movement, including serving several stints on organizational boards, such as the Sustainable Farming Association of Minnesota and Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture.
