| | This is the second Special Issue of a two-part series of contributed presentations presented at the 7th International Deer Biology Congress (IDBC), held in Chile at the Huilo Huilo nature reserve, near the town of Panguipulli, 1–6 August 2010. The first part was published in 2011 in Animal Production Science Volume 51, Issue 4.
The Congress brought together a diverse group of deer scientists and deer management professionals from 23 countries of Europe, North and South America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Contributed papers published in this Special Issue were presented by Fuhe Yang (deer meat quality), Erika Kuzmova (regeneration of antler tissue), Beatriz Bolivar-Cime (habitat management), Concepcion Azorit (deer bone disease, antler density, nutrition and metabolism), Werner Flueck (deer introductions and management), Susan Gonzalez (parasitological assessment of deer), Eva Wiklund (deer meat quality), Alejandra Hurtado (deer behavior), Eduardo Aisen (sperm recovery), and Jo-Anne Smith-Flueck (deer reproduction).
This Special Issue will make recent advances in deer science available to those deer enthusiasts and specialists who were unable to attend the Congress. We hope you enjoy reading papers in the second part of the series.
