| | This paper describes the derivation and application of methods of calculating solar altitude, azimuth, angle of incidence, shadow angles, and sunrise and sunset times from standard astronomical and geographic data and includes a description of such fundamental concepts in astronomy as are required for understanding the methods. It provides an extended explanation of solar position tables that have been computed by these methods for various Australasian localities for the use of building designers and air-conditioning engineers. | |
