Psychosocial guidelines in cancer care and support

Abstract
The increasing demands of consumers for attention to the psychosocial aspects of care has been acknowledged with the release of clinical practice guidelines for the psychosocial care of women with breast cancer. This article describes the development of the Psychosocial Clinical Practice Guidelines: information, support and counselling for women with breast cancer by the National Breast Cancer Centre, which have been endorsed by the National Health and Medical Research Council.
