Abstract
Thirteen host records of Aphelenchoides fragariae and ten
host records of A. ritzemabosi are reported from New
Zealand for the first time. This is believed to be the first record of
A. fragariae in the plant families Asclepiadaceae,
Buddlejaceae and Convolvulaceae, and of either species in Alstroemeriaceae.
Concurrent infections of A. fragariae and
A. ritzemabosi were observed in
Alstroemeria sp. and
Campanula rapunculoides, and
A. ritzemabosi and
Ditylenchus dipsaci were observed together in
Plantago lanceolata. The fern,
Phymatodes diversifolium, infected with
A. fragariae, was collected in native woodland.
