Abstract
Cryphonectria parasitica, causal agent of chestnut blight, was detected in chestnut plants at the AQIS Post Entry Quarantine facility located at Knoxfield, Victoria. Although only the Endothiella anamorph was encountered, ribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacer sequencing revealed it to be C. parasitica, rather than other Cryphonectria or Endothia species with a similar Endothiella state reported from chestnut.
