Abstract

The pathogen that causes a leaf blotch and a rot of cymbidium orchids in New Zealand has been identified as Phytophthora multivesiculata using morphological characteristics and Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) fingerprinting. It is widespread in the North Island of the country.
