This paper describes the identification of PCR primers for the specific detection of Phytophthora cinnamomi. An internal standard DNA fragment amplified by the same PCR primers but giving an amplicon of a different size is added to the PCR reactions to detect false negative reactions caused by inhibition of amplification.
