Abstract

The compounds Fe4X6(OMe)6,4MeOH (I), Fe4X3(OMe)9 (II) (X = Cl, Br), and FeCl(OMe)2 have been prepared. From their magnetic behaviour it is proposed that in the compounds (I) the iron atoms are situated at the corners of a rhombus, that in compounds (II) they are at the corners of a tetrahedron, and that in FeCl(OMe)2 the iron atoms are at the corners of an isosceles triangle.
