Abstract
The reaction of the open pentanuclear cluster
Ru5(µ5-C2PPh2)(µ-PPh2)(CO)13
(1) with dppm afforded the previously described complex
Ru5(µ5-C2PPh2)(µ-PPh2)(CO)12(dppm)
(2), with six Ru–Ru bonds and a chelating dppm ligand, together with
Ru5(µ5-C2PPh2)(µ-dppm)(µ-PPh2)(CO)11
(3), whose structure is reported here (seven Ru–Ru bonds). The bidentate
phosphine bridges an outer Ru–Ru vector, adjacent to that bridged by the
PPh2 group.
