Abstract

Pateena elimata Hill and P, polymitarior Hill are recorded from mainland Australia, and P. elimatula, sp. nov., and P.curta, sp. nov. are described from south-east Australia. The generic definition is revised and a key given to the four species. The relationships of paleena to Duonota Hill and Macromannus Hill are discussed, as well as the conservation status and possible fire-refuge indicator value of Pateena species.
