Copyright/Licence to Publish

The Royal Australasian Ornithologists Union, the owner of Emu, has authorised CSIRO PUBLISHING to act as publisher and as a guardian and clearing-house for requests to reproduce parts of the work.

Authors (or their institutions) retain copyright in their work but are required to complete and sign a Licence to Publish that clearly specifies the rights required by Emu and those rights that are retained by authors or their institutions.

Authors submitting material to Emu for publication must clear all third party intellectual property rights and obtain formal permission from their respective institutions, where necessary. Authors must also warrant that their work:

Has not been published before

Is not presently being considered for publication elsewhere

Does not violate any intellectual property right of any person or entity

Does not contain any subject matter that contravenes any laws (including defamatory material and misleading and deceptive material) and

Meets ethical research standards.

A Licence to Publish should be sent with the final manuscript or returned, at the very latest, with page proofs. Completed forms may be sent to:
