Fluvial palaeo-systems of the Eurasia north: geological setting and minerageny

Abstract

Different-aged (from recent to Paleozoic ones) fluvial valley and channel systems are collectors for mineral deposits of wide spectrum: from distal gravitational accumulations (placers of Au, PGE, Sn) through proximal placers (diamond, heavy minerals, and fine-grained gold) to leached deposits on complex geochemical barriers (U, Mo, TR). The wide tectonic diversity in the Eurasia North (cratons, different-aged plates and orogenic belts) allows to compare styles of palaeovalley and palaeochannel minerageny according to the type of the Earth crust.
