Abstract

A record of refraction survey data is used by Multi-channel Analysis of Surface Wave (MASW) method. An analysis of a seismic record gives a one-dimensional S-wave velocity solution at the centre point of the array. A number of sub-arrays for analysis can be selected from a single record, which will increase the spatial samples along the survey line. Using sub-arrays immediately raises issues of varying offset and lower number of traces. This study examines these issues and proposes a method to generate a detailed S-wave velocity section using a larger number of analysis points without increasing field effort.
