Abstract
The growth rates of 172 Short-tailed Shearwater
Puffinus tenuirostris chicks, subjected to low, medium
and high levels of handling, were monitored during the 1991–92 breeding
season on Great Dog Island, Bass Strait, Australia. Chick growth did not
differ consistently between the three levels of disturbance.
