The main metabolites from fructose were carbon dioxide, lactate, and acetate. Generally the effects of the addition of potassium (1 mM) plus magnesium (2 roM) were greater with 1 x 108 ram spermatozoa per millilitre than with 4 X 108 cells per millilitre
