Sectional reclassification of Drosera subgenus Ergaleium (Droseraceae)

Abstract

The sectional classification of Drosera subgenus Ergaleium is evaluated as a result of the discovery of D. fimbriata. Stem anatomical features of systematic and evolutionary importance in the subgenus are described and illustrated. The relationships of D. fimbriata and the evolutionary implications of the stem anatomy are discussed, and a new sectional classification is proposed. The new Drosera section Stolonifera is described.
