Abstract

The Australian endemic fern Dictymia brownii exhibits more features of a polypodioid fern and is perhaps morphologically distinct from the pleopeltioid and microsoroid ferns. The most interesting and unique morphological features are found in the structure of the paleae and the vascular cylinder of the rhizome.
