We are grateful to numerous people who have assisted us over the years. Special thanks are due to Judy West for the whole period of the project and more latterly Jeremy Burdon, who have supported and encouraged us, particularly in the hectic last year for the first edition of the project. In the final compilation of EUCLID we have been greatly assisted in the graphic design by Linda Kemp, who produced all the imagery for the first version of EUCLID, and more recently by Wendy Gorton, who has produced the additional imagery for the revised edition. We would also like to thank Kevin Jeans, Andrea Jordan, Meredith Lewis and Chandi Perera of CSIRO Publishing for compiling the revised edition and for giving expert advice on the final format and presentation. We wish to make special mention of Isobel Crawford, who began coding data at the beginning of the project and who set the initial standards.
EUCLID could not have gone ahead without the initial input of Mike Dallwitz and Toni Paine, who introduced us to their DELTA system, particularly INTKEY. Kevin Thiele wrote the User Guide and assisted us greatly with the LucID software. He also made a significant contribution with his excellent and instructive line drawings and many useful suggestions from his checking of the final product. Pennie Hohnen prepared the distribution maps from the Australian National Herbarium database, David Kleinig lent us over one hundred colour slides to fill the gaps in our own collection and Stuart Craig assisted greatly with scanning electron micrography. We appreciate the opportunity given us by Pauline Ladiges and Mike Crisp to promote and demonstrate EUCLID to their respective botany classes at the University of Melbourne and the Australian National University; we are grateful also to Sue Streatfield, Paul Ryan & Sue Wakefield, who co-ordinated EUCLID Workshops in Canberra, Shepparton and Bathurst, and to the many people who attended those workshops for valuable feedback. We are grateful to Environment Australia's Bushcare for their support to expedite the final stage of production. For the revised edition, we are grateful to the Mount Annan Botanic Gardens for the donation of seed for many species of Angophora, and to the National Herbarium of New South Wales (Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney) and the Queensland Herbarium for generously supplying data from their respective herbarium databases. The Australian National Botanic Gardens, Canberra, kindly allowed access to their living collection. Australian Biological Resources Study (ABRS) permitted the reproduction of the regional maps and text from The Families of Flowering Plants of Australia (editors K.R. Thiele & L.G. Adams). EUCLID could not have been completed without access to the various National Parks and State Forests of south-eastern Australia.
